New book by Interpreter’s House Editor
In October 2009, Shoestring Press will publish The Georgians 1901-1930, An Anthology, chosen and edited by Interpreter’s House editor Merryn Williams. This anthology, the first of its kind since James Reeves’ slender 1962 anthology Georgian Poetry, includes a substantial Introduction as well as explanatory notes and biographical information about the 24 poets included. The book covers well known authors of the period – G.K. Chesterton, Rupert Brooke and Walter de la Mare among them – but also less well-remembered figures such as Francis Ledwige and Charles Sorley.
This is one of the most ambitious enterprises the Press has undertaken in its fifteen year history. The book will retail at £13.95, but Shoestring authors and friends of the Press can take advantage of a special pre-publication price of £10.50 (including p. and p.) up to 30th September. The names of all who have subscribed by 20th August will be listed at the end of the book.
